MatchLight Master: Ben Kerns
Ben has worked with MatchLight since it’s very inception. He
consulted on the development of the background library, and worked as a beta user of the LightTargets and the early versions of the MatchLight Software.
Project: The series of images in Paris were created for an editorial piece on the connection between Boston and Paris. The editor wanted to feature models in the streets of Paris wearing fashion from Boston’s
prestigious Newbury Street stores. Once again there wasn’t a budget to send a crew to France so we shot the models in Boston and combined them with images from France.
Ben Kerns comments: “The key to the MatchLight system is the target.
This target allows a photographer to quickly match lighting,
perspective and scale for any image that one wants to create. It was
essential for this project since we had to work fast and yet maintain a
realism for the images.”
